Have you ever thought of working from home? Have you ever wondered how to make extra money while working from home? Well one of the easiest ways out there is by completing surveys, especially paying ones. An interesting trend has crossed over the Internet in the past few years and that is of companies using the Internet as a survey marketing tool.

What companies are doing is to create a survey based around a product, service or company. They offer rewards in return for completing a survey. The survey can be on just about anything you can dream up. I have come across surveys about pets, languages, where I shop, what I like to buy, what I think about a certain product line, would I use a certain product, even sexual interests. The range of surveys available is wide.

In return for completing these surveys, these companies offer a wide range of rewards including such things as memberships to clubs (gyms/books/dvds etc) to giftcards of various values ($100, $500) etc. They offer free products as well including some of the most common name brand products such as (Nike, Xbox, Nokia, Motorola etc).

All these things are given away as a reward for spending some time answering a few questions about whatever topic you find. It is quite amazing that the Internet has become a hub for this kind of thing. The companies gain valuable insight into their services, products and companies and how the public views them. This information is used to enhance a product line, a service or a company's image. They also use it to create or design new products or services or even to discontinue some.

So where does the working from home come in? Well, as a potential customer, you can sit at your computer, sign up for a survey and begin filling it out. Within weeks, you might see gifts, gift cards or other rewards piling up in your mailbox or at your front door. The best part is that you can do whatever you want with them. A perfect example of this is receiving a hot item like an Xbox 360. Maybe you don't need it or want it. Well guess what, you can sell it and get cold hard cash for your efforts. How awesome is that? Just think of the money you could have made this past holiday season if you had a bunch of brand new products that you wanted to sell for just below retail. Who knows how much cash you might have made?

This article sets out the benefits and pitfalls of working from home as a paid surveyor.
